How dangerous is the swine flu?

My mom thinks she may have the swine flu and is worried about it. I told her not to worry so much because it’s no more dangerous than the regular flu.

So can someone tell me how many people in Canada died from the regular flu/swine flu this past year?

Also, is the swine flu more dangerous to your health as, lets say, tonsillitis or strep throat or other common things?

    You’re right of swine influenza is almost the same as avian origin. NnSi you already have a weak immune system or respiratory problems above could be really bad though.
