Are you planning on getting the flu/swine flu vaccination?

Date February 7, 2010

I was just curious as to if other Mommy to be’s are planning on getting the H1N1 (swine flu) vaccination. I’ve never gotten the seasonal flu shot before this year, but got it last week as recommended by my DR. I was just reading on Fox News that 28 pregnant women have died from Swine Flu. :- Im a little apprehensive about getting the vaccination because of it being so new. Anyone else? Should we all still get it?

If you’re nervous about getting vaccinated then wait for its release for several weeks to obtain. The CDC will respond to side effects very closely because it is a bit rushed to the public. You will be aware of adverse effects within 4-6 weeks, I’m sure.

Doctors recommend that pregnant women and children under 18 get the shot for sure. Personally, I do not think that vaccines against influenza arent effective. There are so many different strands of the flu, the vaccine against influenza may fail. Being that you are pregnant, I’d probably take the picture, just to be sure. Good luck to you! I hope you have a healthy pregnancy!

I was worried about getting because it’s so new, too, but with this new report 1 in 3 women will die from the swine flu, it seems that there is more to gain than to obtain be craint.nnDésolé, I meant 1 on Women 3 SPEAKERS

There have been several cases of this in my area. . . . in MY town. And my doctor said that the swine flu is actually LESS dangerous than ordinary flu. It is also treated in the same way if you want the vaccine —- just get it. . . . . its apparently not as deadly as the media made it out to be

The vaccine against H1N1 is no more each season. The H1N1 vaccine uses the same basic principles of it – just a vaccine against ordinary flu manufactured to match the strain H1N1.nnVous can even opt for the version without thimerisol if you inquiète.nnH1N1 is rising dramatically During the last two weeks, cases have soared. In fact, the CDC reported this week that 99% of cases of H1N1 were only 1% being the risk saisonnière.nnLe flu vaccine is much lower than the risk of this particularly virulent strain of influenza. It is much more dangerous than the flu seaonal we have seen in recent years.

I get vaccinated against the flu each year and I think I’m from H1N1 this year because my doctor strongly recommended to me because I’m pregnant with baby # 3. . So I am sure I will!

I do not believe that vaccinations are safe for anyone, let alone pregnant women. . . There were zero studies conclude, even if its safe for pregnant women because they have not had the chance to see the side effects it may cause the infant. . . does that sound reassuring? nnwww. thinktwice. com

I wish that if my doctor says is safe. My next appointment is in two more weeks so I’ll see what she has to say about it. I get up so early in the morning to take a swimming class (6am) and I just work with my hair wet and people here like a. c. and I do not catch the flu at all.

Yes, pregnant women have died of swine flu. If you look at information in the swine flu sites pregnant women are among the first of those who have priority for vaccination. I will obtain immunization against swine flu and so my son 1 years old. The husband of my best friend recently had swine flu and said that he was mortally ill. I know that vaccinations are not always a good thing, but I prefer the random side effects of vaccination that catching this bug. It sounds like really bad.

Yes, I think I’ll get – I am worried about possible side effects, but my doctor assured me that this is a safe – and having already had a version of the flu lasted over three weeks this Year n (Not sure if it was a pig or not – they had stopped testing for it) and I can not afford to take more time off work.
